Teaching With Families as Partners for Learning

Our goal for this section is to assist you with meeting your ongoing teaching objectives as well as, involve families in your students' learning in ways that maximize the family's contributions. We will provide suggestions for practical activities using features, stories, and articles from Highlights. We will share more general suggestions, such as how to develop effective language and how to capitalize on the different ways children learn, which we hope will support and refresh your commitment to family involvement.
It's more than students taking home an infectious enthusiasm for what they are studying. It's opening up opportunities for authentic family contributions. In a true partnership, families won't just follow what is modeled at school; they contribute their own voices, experiences, and expertise.
Because the magazine is based on sound educational principles and connects so effectively with families, you will almost certainly want to use it for far more activities on a monthly basis.
